Dr. Salem received her Medical Degree from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, India in 1993. She completed her first 2 years of pediatric residency in New York, and her third year at University of Texas HSC, El Paso where she received her "Resident of the Year" award.

 

Later, Dr. Salem practiced in Athens, TX, providing comprehensive pediatric care and moved to Plano in 2001. She worked as a locum physician, gaining diverse experiences in many practices across DFW before establishing her own practice "Kiddie Docs" in 2004.

 

Dr. Salem is married to her husband since 1995, and has two sons, Sanjay and Surya. Being a mom, she understands the importance of taking care of your child's well-being and is committed to helping you in this endeavor.

 

Dr. Salem is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has completed her MBA in Healthcare Management from University of Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Kanaga graduated medical school with honors from AIMST University, Malaysia in 2010.
She completed her Pediatric Residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical
Center, NY in 2019. Following that, she worked as an Attending Physician at a hospital in
NYC for 2 years, providing both outpatient and inpatient care. She recently moved to the
DFW area with her family and is excited to serve the surrounding community. Dr. Kanaga is
certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Kanaga enjoys working with parents and children of all ages, helping them embrace
different stages of childhood and adolescence. She has special interest in preventive care,
newborn care, breastfeeding, obesity and weight management through a healthy lifestyle.
Outside of work, she spends most of her time with her husband and 2 children. She loves
reading books, watching movies, playing board games and travelling. Dr. Kanaga is fluent in
English, Tamil and Malay.

Sarah Cunningham, our Physician's Assistant, began her medical journey in 2012, where she began her pre-medical studies in Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

She then attended Baylor University in Waco. Texas, where she earned her BS in Biology, during which she took part in mission trips to Kenya and was involved in numerous medical organizations.

 

Sarah earned her Masters of Science at Texas Tech University and her education was complemented by immersive rotations in various medical specialties, including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Dermatology, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry. These experiences under the guidance of esteemed preceptors have enriched her clinical skills and deepened her understanding of holistic patient care.

Sarah is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society for Physician Assistants in Pediatrics. These affiliations allow her to stay updated with the latest advancements in pediatric healthcare and connect with fellow professionals who share her passion.

Sarah brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Her tenure at Best Kids Care since 2019 allowed her to develop a diverse skill set, including obtaining patient histories, conducting thorough physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating accurate treatment plans.

 

After working at Best Kids care for three years, she joined our team here at Craig Ranch Pediatrics, and has embraced the transition seamlessly. She has attended to many of our patients, and as many of you know, has paid every one of her patients attentive care and compassion.

 

As she vows, she values the power of teamwork and is looking forward to working alongside an excellent team, which she has fully embraced in her time with us. She is truly passionate about learning and willing to put forth the effort necessary to make a positive impact in you and your child's life, and is excited to get to know you all!

Rashmi Krishnappa began her journey with us in 2012, and has been with us since then. She graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences from Karnataka University in India, and completed her Clinical Medical Assistant training in Collin Community College in 2012. Though she has now transitioned to mainly Billing Administration and triage, she has shown dedication to our office through her relentless work ethic and excellent patient care.

Rashmi nurtures a deep interest in pediatric care and has catered to our patient and families' every need throughout her eleven years of work with us, and is excited to see what the future of the office holds for her. She also shares a deep passion in yoga, which led her to become a certified instructor in 2017! 

 

She lives with her husband, two daughters (and a very rambunctious dog), in West Plano. 

Gretchen is a go-getter and will take action to ensure that your front office needs are handled. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and has 15+ years of medical customer service experience. Prior to our office, she worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas where she obtained lots of experience handling billing and insurance. She has been with Craig Ranch Pediatrics since 2018.

 

Gretchen currently resides in the McKinney-Allen area with her husband Steve and three children Haley, Kylie, and Courtney. Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with her family and reading a book.

Kimia has 30+ years of experience in pediatrics and started her medical journey in Iran where she attended medical school. After moving to the US, she obtained her license as a certified medical assistant in 2015. Kimia has been a great addition to our team and has been with us since 2021.

 

Kimia shows up every day early, prepared, and ready to start the day off strong. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her daughter Kayla, shopping, and seeing her friends.  

Maria just recently joined us at Craig Ranch Pediatrics, and she has made a great addition to our team! Prior to our office, she worked at a call center for dental insurance and at an allergist clinic where she worked at the front desk answering phones, collecting payments, etc.

 

She and her husband Mario have 2 dogs named Bruno and Benjie. Outside of work she likes to go shopping and spend time with her family. 

Haley is multiskilled and is able to fluctuate between positions depending on which aspect of the office needs more assistance. She is currently a nursing student at Midwestern State University and will soon graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

 

Since starting at Craig Ranch Pediatrics in 2021, she has grown an admiration for working in pediatrics and is interested in continuing onto that specialty after graduation. Haley is trained and well-equipped to help take care of your needs at the front desk and nurse’s station as well.
